N-Gauge Class 66 No.66719 'Michael Portillo' - SOUND FITTED Deposit

Revolution’s Class 66 model has been widely accepted across the N-Gauge community as an exquisitely detailed and very smooth-running model. Packed full of features, No.66719 is not one to miss for any N-Gauge or Class 66 enthusiast!

Model Features:

One of the most ubiquitous diesel classes in the UK, 480 examples were built for the UK market with additional examples being imported from other countries pools to bolster the amount in service in the UK. The Class 66 is a progression of the privately commissioned Class 59 that Foster Yeoman had constructed to replace their aging and failing BREL locomotives. The class shares the same body as the 59 but has uprated internals, and in May 1996 EWS placed an order for 250 units to be built in Ontario. These would set EWS back £375 million, with the first units arriving relatively quickly in early 1998. The locomotives would be in service from the point they touched down at Newport Docks, with the locomotives shipped already filled with water and fuel. The last such example arrived in the UK in spring 2016.

Both No.66719 and No.66710 (also available here) were originally seen in their new liveries hauling Network Rail’s 2025 Exhibition Train ‘Inspiration’ and sport a red body and grey roof livery, complete with GBRf and Railway 200 branding. No.66719 was named ‘Michael Portillo’ at the Greatest Gathering event, Derby in August of 2025 to honour the former MP and presenter of many UK railway programmes.
